The Fan Committee's Foreword
For the fans of the Lord of the Rings films lucky enough to have seen The Fellowship of the Ring performed live at Radio City in 2009, it's sometimes difficult to articulate the sheer magic of the experience. Seeing the film on Radio City's gigantic screen was thrilling. Feeling the music played by the live orchestra literally surround you was electrifying. Hearing the soloists and choirs make the film come alive was often heart-breakingly beautiful. But, the experience as a whole is nearly impossible to put into words—words that do it justice anyway.
How lucky are we, then, to be able to experience it all again in October of this year at the screening of The Two Towers? Very lucky, indeed. How lucky are those for whom The Two Towers will be their first Radio City experience? Even luckier.
Soon, we will gather with family, friends we know, and friends we have yet to meet who share a common bond of love for J.R.R. Tolkien, Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films and Howard Shore's amazing score. We'll enjoy the fun and adventure of exploring New York City together. We'll meet Howard Shore and Doug Adams again as they continue to guide us through the musical Lord of the Rings experience. Together, we'll experience the exhilarating hush as the lights go down, the beginning credits start to roll and the music of The Two Towers score starts to fill the hall.
